Laminated glass is a composite glass product made of two or more pieces of glass with a layer or multiple layers of organic polymer film sandwicedbetween them. After special high-temperature prepressing (or vacuuming) and high-temperature and high-pressure process, the glass and the intermediate film are permanently bonded into one.
The commonly used intermediate films of laminated glass are :PVB, SGP, EVA, PU and so on.
In addition, there are some more special such as color intermediate film laminated glass, SGX printing intermediate film laminated glass, XIR low-E intermediate film laminated glass and so on. Embedded decorative pieces (metal mesh, metal plate, etc.) laminated glass, embedded PET material laminated glass, decorative and functional laminated glass.
Material characteristics:
Even if the glass is broken, the fragments will be stuck to the film, and the broken glass surface will still keep clean and smooth. This effectively prevents the debris from puncturing and falling through the event to ensure personal safety.
In Europe and the United States, most building glass is made of laminated glass, not only to avoid injury accidents, but also because laminated glass has excellent anti-invasion ability. The intermediate membrane can resist the continuous attack of the hammer, firewood knife and other weapons, and can resist the penetration of bullets for a long time, so its safety level is extremely high.
The glass is safely broken and may break under the impact of the heavy ball, but the whole glass still maintains an interlayer, and the broken pieces and small sharp fragments are still stuck together with the intermediate film. When the glass breaks, the pieces do not disperse and are used in vehicles such as cars.
